A consumer UPS holds only enough charge for a few minutes — just long enough to save data or bridge to a generator. Backup is an Emergency Power Supply (EPS) sized for hours or days of runtime. Its switchover is less than 50 ms, which is fine for fridges and most appliances, though sensitive electronics may reset. For sensitive electronics, we recommend adding a small inline UPS to your setup and it can bridge that millisecond gap, then Backup takes over.
